New Amber Alert GPS ARMOR Update!

Well, it has been absolutely crazy around here lately, what with the launch of our new ARMOR child tracking device. This is the ultimate child locator and we have been working on it for almost a year. We have FCC and SAR certification on the new device and will have PTCRB certification on December 1st.  This may all be greek to you, but what it means is that our new Amber Alert GPS ARMOR child locator device will meet all the standards for mobile devices in North America. In other words, no corners being cut…we are getting the best and most qualified device ready for the market.

It was supposed to have been shipped on November 1, 201o but because of testing delays for certification we have to delay it till the end of this month. Here are two changes we made to this new device that we thought we were going to have when we started:

1. no temperature alert. The testing was getting very skewed results which, if relied upon by a parent, would drive us all to drinking! The numbers, being the temperatures, were so off the chart, that if our child went outside on a cold wintery day, the temperature might read 100 degrees. So, that didn’t work for us. We will continue to work on it and may introduce it again at some later time, but for now it is being shelved.

2. the two way voice is going back to one way voice monitoring. Our microphone is not loud enough so we will go back to simple voice monitoring, which was a popular feature on our old 2G device. Possibly in our next shipment we will have the 2-way voice monitoring working as optimally as we expect it.

Well, that’s the update for today. Lots of excitement here at Amber Alert GPS about this new device. The new predator alert will knock your socks off!

The Destination Alert Feature On The Amber Alert GPS Device

As kids get older they want to be given more and more independence so they can do things on their own. It starts with little things like kids wanting to feed themselves and grows to bigger things like wanting to ride their bike to school. For parents it can be hard to give up doing these things for their child but allowing them to grow up is something that must happen even if the chances of them getting hurt are there.

For parents who have a child who wants to start walking to school or riding their bike alone to school there is a little peace of mind they can purchase to make this little bit of freedom easier to give to their child. Protecting A Child From Non-stranger Abduction

While the news may lead parents to believe that strangers are the biggest threat to their children in reality this is not the case. Most abducted children are taken by someone they know whether it is an estranged parent, another relative, or someone that has come into the lives of the family. Of course a surprising amount of abductions are those involving parents who are separated or divorced from the other parent and feel wronged or cheated when it comes to custody and time with the child. For parents who have primary custody of their child this is most often a thought in the back of their mind when visitation comes around but many times the courts do not give them the opportunity to not allow the other parents rights.

For custodial parents a child locator device may be the best solution if they fear that one day the child will not be returned after a visitation. The unit can use GPS technology to track the whereabouts of the child and alert them should they leave a safe zone with their other parent to an area they should not go.

Even in situations where the non-custodial parent does not have unsupervised visit’s a personal tracking device can be used to ensure that they do not pick up the child when they are not supposed to and try and take them away to start a new life elsewhere.

Make To & From School Safer For Kids With A GPS Tracking Device

While there are many laws to keep child predators away from our children those laws are tough for the authorities to enforce. For this reason our kids may potentially walk by a predator on their way to school or have one drive by them as they wait at the bus stop. While we cannot keep these situations from happening we can provide a tool to help protect our children should something unfortunate occur.

A large majority of kids are kidnapped while on their way to and from school since this gives the predator a chance to watch their habits and daily routing to formulate a plan. The Amber Alert GPS child locator is a amazing device for parents who need a little help keeping track of their child and want to possibly prevent the unthinkable of happening to them as well. But of course this device will not work and do its job if it is not with the child. So attaching it to them is important for it to be effective and there are many different ways this can be done.

Child Abduction Rates Higher In Spring

Spring is a wonderful time of year with flowers emerging from the ground after a long winter and birds and other animals becoming more mobile. After a long winter everyone is more than happy to see the longer days and feel the warmer sun. For kids this means more time to play outside with friends, summertime sports, and maybe even getting to walk to and from school. It can be a great time of year but families need to be aware that the vast majority of stranger abductions occur in the spring time.

According to the FBI almost 36% of the child abductions committed by someone who does not know the family occur in the spring. For this reason parents need to take the time to remind their children rules regarding talking to strangers and being safe while away from home. While being aware of strangers and how to react when confronted by them kids stand a better chance of thwarting the attempt.

Of course sometimes not talking to strangers will not stop an abduction attempt and parents who really want to protect their children should consider getting a child locator device. With a little work with kids the chances are they will do exactly what is needed of them in the event they are ever faced with a dangerous situation involving a stranger.

Should Kids Talk To Strangers When Lost?

While the Amber Alert GPS child locator is effective at finding lost children there is still that moment of fear for kids when they realize that they do not know where they are at. While we teach our children not to talk to strangers in normal everyday life we then tell them to go to a policeman or person of authority should they find themselves lost. This can be confusing for kids, but many authorities are telling parents that a child approaching a stranger is most often in no danger at all.

Kids need to understand the difference between a stranger approaching them when they are not in distress as opposed to them approaching someone when they need help. When a stranger approaches a child the odds are very high that their intentions are not good. But most people are not bad and the average person a child runs into when they are lost will be loving and supportive in attempts to help them find their way back to their parents. Many teach that kids should approach women first since more often than not their mothering instinct will kick in and they will want to do all they can to help.

Parents need to work with their children in practice sessions in the home for both situations. Studies have shown that kids who know what to do and have practiced how to handle strangers both in danger and for help are better prepared should they need to use it one day. While no parent wants their child to ever get lost and a personal tracking device can help find them quickly a smart child that knows exactly what to do will be able to keep the situation under control until they get reunited with their parents again.

Amber Alert Works…But The Internet Helps Predators!

I just read this article about the success or the Amber Alert system. It is wonderful to hear about the lives that are being saved and children being found thanks to this wonderful program. What really surprised me was the statistic that a child goes missing in the USA every 40 seconds. That is simply amazing. I am sure a lot of them are missing temporarily and that mom and dad  just lost track of them somehow, but every 40 seconds? Mind boggling. Of course, the AAGPS child tracking device would go a long way to helping solve this issue.

Another scary thing is the number of predators who are online trying to connect with our kids through Facebook, MySpace, etc. The article mentions a YouTube video that tells predators how to target and identify children online.
