Setting Safe Zones On The Amber Alert GPS Child Locator

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: , , — admin @ 12:04 pm

One of the features that parents appreciate most on the Amber Alert GPS child locator is the ability to program in safe zones. Safe zones are areas, most often around the neighborhood they live, where children spend a considerable amount of time playing with friends. Of course a zone do not have to be around the home, it can be anywhere a parent chooses it to be.

These safe zones are areas which parents can define in the web interface for the unit that will allow them to receive an instant notification should the GPS tracking device and the child leave the zone. Since kids out playing with friends usually have boundaries they are supposed to remain inside this is just an electronic way for parents to monitor their child and ensure that they do remain in the assigned play area.

Whether the child leaves this area on their own or through the coercion of a stranger the child locator device will instantly send a message to the cell phone of the parent to notify them that this has occurred. If the child has been abducted this will alert parents who can alert authorities instantly of the problem. Research and studies show the first few hours after an abduction is crucial to finding the child. As more time passes it becomes harder for investigators to locate missing individuals. With the Amber Alert should a child leave their safe zone parents will know immediately what happened not minutes or hours later.

Parents can easily program in the safe zone for their child through the Amber Alert web interface. Should they have any problems getting this feature setup the support staff is available to assist them in order to get the most benefit of protecting their child with this personal tracking device.

Ensuring Children Know Emergency Numbers!

Kids can do some amazing things and sometimes we as parents hold them back because we think we are protecting them or we do not want them to grow up. Yet we hear great stories on the news of kids that do heroic things to save others when many felt they were too young to have done so. One of the many ways kids help people is by calling for help when the adult they are with cannot.

Ensuring your child knows how to call for help on a phone can not only help in case of emergency it can also greatly help in case they are ever lost from home. Whether it is simply 911 they are learning, a home phone number, or even how to access the numbers in a cell phone this can be a great help in case of emergency.

Of course kids should also know the address of where they live so that if they are calling for help or are lost they can give this vital piece of information to the adult who is helping them. Even the youngest children can learn these vital pieces of information and know when to use them if only parents take the time to make sure they teach it to them.

Hope this helps! By the way, we have some exciting news coming out soon about the new Amber Alert GPS 2G child locator unit! I will keep you posted. Also, did you know that we were on TV again? Amber Alert GPS Would Have Helped In Las Vegas!

I have been thinking a lot lately about this boy that was kidnapped in Las Vegas, for whom the Amber Alert system had been activated.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/10/19/nevada.boy/index.html

Fortunately, everything worked out just fine. The boy was found safe and sound walking down a street in Vegas. I hate to be self-promoting, but our Amber Alert GPS system would have saved the nation of an Amber Alert and, more importantly, it would have saved the family of this boy all the anguish I am sure they went through.

If they had just had this little device in the pocket or backpack or belt of their son, they could have called the Amber Alert GPS unit with their cell phone and, presto, they would have known exactly where he was. Especially with the new 2G model coming out in February, they could have located him within 10-15 feet of his actual location!

Holy Cow! What stress that would have prevented. Oh well…folks just need to be educated about the unit. As a matter of fact, we just put up a power point presentation about how it works along with some videos explaining how it could help you as a parent on the home page. Here is a link to the powerpoint presentation;

Well, I’m glad I got this off my chest. It is so frustrating that I can’t tell the world right now that we can save lives…that children can be tracked when they are out of our sight…that we can have some bloody peace of mind when our kids leave the safe haven of our home.

Don’t mind me…I’m just a rambling mom…

P.S. By the way, I should tell everyone that our regular/current Amber Alert GPS units are virtually sold out. If you want the new, exciting Amber Alert GPS 2G, you will have to pre-order them. They come out in February 2009 and the pricing right now on the pre-order is the same as the current model. The prices will go up come February…FYI.
